The Beginning Of My Amazing Knitting Journey! Part 1

Hi! Welcome to my blog! For many months, I had been craving for a blog, so I can express myself. The problem was, I didn't know how to make one, so recently I had been Googling and found Blogger! So, if you are reading this now, you must be wondering who I am? Or what do I do? Maybe some of you might know me already, but today, I am going to tell you how my journey as an 11-year-old knitter started.

When I was eight, I had an interest in knitting, when I first saw someone knitting, I was suddenly so fascinated by it, how you can turn a ball of yarn, which was basically a long long piece of thread into anything you want! The only problem was that no one in my family knew how to knit! Fast forward to when I was 11 years old, my British Godmother asked my Mum on what gift she should get me, as she was coming from London to visit me. My Mum remembered that I always wanted to learn how to knit and quickly asked her if she could get me a knitting kit for beginners!

This was the scarf from the knitting kit, in progress.

The best part about this was, my British Godmother knows how to knit too! So when she came, she surprised me with the knitting kit! Slowly she thought me how to knit, the tricky part was, I am left-handed and she is right-handed. To this day, I still wonder how she managed to teach me. She is an extra ordinary person. My first project was a knitted fox scarf! After I finished it, I gave it to my Mum as a present, so she can wrap it around her neck when she is cold, even though we live at the equator! 😂

My Mum loves her scarf!

Look at how long this scarf was!

Everything started very slowly. After I started to master knitting, I made cute mini plushies for my friends and started a knitting business to sell them! I also learned sewing, which helped me a lot in many things that I do. I enjoy knitting and it has changed my life a lot in a way I never felt before! The surprising part was, this was only the start of my journey! Little did I know that I would learn more skills which I had never known of before. To find out more, check out part 2!
